1. Corrosion failure: the corrosion of friction pairs is a problem that needs attention. The friction pairs of mechanical seals should meet the requirements of strength, stiffness and wear resistance under the working conditions of the equipment, especially with very high corrosion resistance. If the corrosion resistance of material surface is poor, surface corrosion and stress corrosion will occur when contact with corrosive medium, and then cracks will occur in the weak area, and then cracks will develop in depth. Sealing ring cracks generally extend along the radial direction, resulting in vibration, heat, smoke, leakage of the sealing device increased, this failure is particularly prominent in chemical enterprises.
2. Failure due to overheating: due to the seal structure of the dynamic ring and static ring end surface friction each other to generate heat, when the abnormal working conditions, the dynamic and static ring dense end surface between the liquid film vaporization and dry friction resulting in a sharp rise in temperature.
