High viscosity high pressure gear pump selection medium
The transmission medium is not only the medium of energy transfer, but also the lubricant, sealing and heat transfer medium. The gear pump for transporting high viscosity liquid should output the most flow rate under lower power consumption, smaller leakage and larger pressure. The viscosity of liquid reflects the difficulty of medium flow. Excessive viscosity will increase the friction resistance of the internal transmission of the melt gear pump, and produce excessive system temperature in serious cases, which will cause damage to equipment components. When determining the medium to be transported, we should strictly follow the stipulations in the product specifications, try our to use the fluid medium recommended by the manufacturer of the melt gear pump, and pay attention to the working temperature range of the system. When you want to use it in a wider temperature range, the viscosity index of the conveying medium should be higher.
When the high viscosity gear pump conveys liquid with high viscosity or when the system works in cold environment, it is necessary to ensure that the conveying medium can flow smoothly. Many oils contain waxy components, which are easy to crystallize at low temperatures, and the condensation point of the transport medium should be lower than the expected minimum operating temperature. In addition, the medium to be conveyed must be compatible with the sealing, gaskets, hoses and other rubber-like materials in the system. If the two are incompatible, then the conveying medium must be redefined.
